Dr. Claire Nelson has been actively engaged in the business of international development for more than twenty-five years.  She works in the area of project development and management, with a particular focus on private sector development.  A renaissance woman, she is a Development Engineer, Social Entrepreneur, and Futurist. 

The first Jamaican woman to earn a Doctorate degree in an engineering discipline and the only black in her graduating class, Dr. Nelson holds Industrial Engineering Degrees from the State University of New York at Buffalo, Purdue University, and a Doctorate in Engineering Management from George Washington University. 

She has served on numerous boards and committees including: US Department of Commerce US/Caribbean Business Development Council Advisory Board; Black Leadership Forum;  DC Caribbean Carnival Association; International Think Tank Commission on Pan-African Affairs, Office of the Prime Minister of Barbados; African-American Unity Caucus; National Democratic Institute/Carter Center Election Observer Mission to the Dominican Republic; Black Professionals in International Affairs; and the International Committee of the National Society of Black Engineers-Alumni Extension.

Dr. Nelson is dedicated to promoting the Caribbean Agricultural Network in Jamaica, and other countries of the Caribbean and Caribbean Diaspora in the United States.

Ambassador Dr. Joseph Edsel Edmunds, OBE, (Ret)  is a graduate of the University of Puerto Rico (BSA in Agronomy) and Cornell University (MSc and Ph.D in Plant Pathology and Nematology respectively). 
He served as a member of the Executive Board of UNESCO and held the positions as Director of Research and Development of the Windward Islands Banana Research and Development Center;  Ambassador of St Lucia to the United Nations (UN); the Organization of American States(OAS), and the United States of America(USA); Senator in the Government of St Lucia; Senior Research Fellow at the University of the West Indies(UWI), St Augustine Campus and Director of the General Secretariat of the OAS in Suriname.

He served as consultant to various international agencies on agricultural projects in the South Pacific, Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean; chaired a committee to review the educational system in St Lucia and made recommendations for improvement; produced for the OAS, a “Working Document on Program of Support for Democracy and Good Governance in the Caribbean” and contributed to a United Nations Development Program(UNDP) report on Governance in the Caribbean.

Esther E. Christian, CPA: Human Resource and Training consultant.  With over twenty years of accounting and managerial experience at Deloitte Touché, Citizens Bank of Washington, Blue Cross Blue Shield Association, Children's National Medical Center in Washington, DC, Georgetown University Hospital and as Transformation Consulting Group's principal, Esther E. Christian is dedicated to providing organizations with the financial, managerial and leadership structure to survive and thrive in a dynamic global economy.  A Certified Public Accountant, Ms. Christian, received her Master of Science degree in Applied Behavioral Science, from Johns Hopkins University. An author, she is also a certified group facilitator and has received training as an executive coach.

She currently serves on Congresswoman Donna Edwards' Education Advisory Committee. Previously she served on the board of Resource Connections of Prince George’s County, a non-profit organization responsible for coordinating services for the developmentally challenged in the county and on the Prince George’s County Advisory Committee on the Aging. Ms. Christian also taught as an adjunct business professor.

Curtis Tonge, is a business man par excellence based in Dominica for over thirty five (35) years. As a member of the team he brings to bear tried and tested knowledge and experiences of varied business ventures at home and abroad.  As a mentor and guiding light Mr. Tonge will be an invaluable resource person to all stakeholders.

Dr. Osmond Baron successfully completed undergraduate degree and post grad diploma at the Eastern Caribbean Institute of Agriculture and Forestry (1981- Agricultural Science), and the University of the West Indies (1986- Agricultural Extension) respectively. In 1992 Dr. Baron successfully completed a Master of Science degree (MSc.) in Agricultural Extension at the Reading University in England. 


In 1997 tried the business field and successfully completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree majoring in International Business at the Everest University in Tampa, Florida. In 2000, Dr. Baron along with seven other students pursued the first known Doctor of Plant Medicine (D.P.M.) program of the world at the University of Florida, Gainesville, FL.  During his pursuit he was awarded the Auzene Scholarship. Dr. Baron made world historical milestone in 2003 when he became the first black and one of the first three students to graduate with a Doctor of Plant Medicine. 

Dr. Baron has extensive agricultural experience (over 35 years) as a farmer (organic and conventional), extensionist, agricultural researcher, and government regulator at both federal and state level in a developed as well as in a developing country.

In 2009, Dr. Baron taught Business and Management studies as an adjunct professor at the Mountain State University in West Virginia.

Dr. Julius W. Garvey, M.D, FACS, FRCS (c),FICS, is a board certified surgeon who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of vascular diseases. He is an attending surgeon on the staff of Long Island Jewish Medical Center and was formerly Chief of Thoracic Surgery at Queens Hospital Center.
He has been internationally schooled and is an Associate Professor of Clinical Surgery at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.  In addition, he has published several papers on the subject of thoracic and vascular diseases in many peer reviewed journals. As a specialist in the diagnosis and treatment of vascular diseases, Dr. Garvey has spoken, taught and presented results at conferences across the country and internationally.
Dr Garvey has served on the Boards of various organizations such as, The Board for the Education of People of African Ancestry, The Zumbi Foundation, The Brotherhood, The Marcus Garvey Committee International Inc, The Read Across Jamaica Foundation, The International Network of Appropriate Technology and is a Fellow of The African Scientific Institute.
Over the years, he has worked in conjunction with the various Ministries and University of the West Indies, on issues concerning the education of the Jamaican youth, the building of schools, the transfer of books and medical supplies and a medical student exchange program.
He has also worked with the Department of Corrections in New York State concerning the rehabilitation of members of the prison population. He has built a school in Jamaica and a school and medical clinic in Senegal, rehabilitated the mausoleum of Kwame Nkrumah in Nkroful, Ghana, where he has been enstooled as Nana Kwesi III the Safohene.

Crispin Gregoire, a national of Dominica, has had a distinguished career in global civil society, international development, and multilateral diplomacy.  

In 2014, he served as Special Adviser to the 68th President of the UN General Assembly and Focal Point for the first-ever UN World Conference on Indigenous Peoples held in September 2014.  He also served as UNDP Director for the Caribbean providing strategic monitoring and support of Caribbean Country Offices from 2012 to 2014. 

From 2002 to 2010, he was the Permanent Representative of Dominica to the United Nations and in that role he also served as Dominica’s Representative to the International Criminal Court, as a Member of the UN NGO Committee, as a Member of the UN Committee on Decolonization, and Chairman of the UN International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Slavery and the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade.   

Prior to his stint in international diplomacy, he has had distinguished work experience in the global non-governmental sector. He has worked as the Director of the Dominica Field Office of Save the Children Federation-USA, Program Manager of TechnoServe-Nigeria, Program Consultant to The Ford Foundation’s Office for West Africa, and Director of Global Programs of the Washington-based, BoardSource Inc.(formerly the National Center for Nonprofit Boards) with a program focus on NGO governance in Africa, Eastern Europe, and Latin America and the Caribbean.  He has facilitated many strategic planning sessions for nonprofit Boards internationally. In the public sector, he served as the Director of the Injury Prevention Program at the New York City Department of Health from 1989 to 1992.

Mr. Gregoire has degrees in Political Science (Columbia University), and in Education and Economic Development (Howard University).  His publications include journal articles on nonprofit governance and management, and on the indigenous Kalinago people of Dominica.

OLIVE B. SAMPSON: For over thirty years Olive Sampson has worked in the field of international relations managing economic development projects, educational and cultural exchange programs and communications.  A committed and life-long volunteer and passionate about issues affecting the African diaspora, Ms. Sampson has spear-headed projects to address poverty, issues affecting women and children, and socio-economic and political disparities.  In addition, she has served on boards of non-profit organizations devoted to promoting educational opportunities for disadvantaged youth in West Africa, Guyana and Washington, DC.

Along with post graduate leadership training at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government, she holds a Master’s degree in Latin American Studies (economic development) from Georgetown University and B.A.  in languages from Howard University.

Alex Salinas is from Sabana Grande, Puerto Rico. He is passionate about agriculture and industry.  Alex is a career police officer, a graduate of the Puerto Rico State Police Academy and John Jay College - New York.

He is a member of the Caribbean Agricultural Network (CAN) dedicated to its development throughout the Caribbean and US Markets.   His responsibilities include the building of partnerships with Spanish speaking Caribbean countries and Latin America allowing CAN the opportunity to offer the widest variety of products and services to its customers.

Yaya Mbaoua is Vice President of Client Relations at a global telemedicine company affiliated with the Harvard University Medical School. With over 15 years of experience in technology business development, product management and telecom engineering, Mr. Mbaoua has a passion for finding solutions to complex real-world challenges. Mr. Mbaoua trained in both Germany and the US and completed Executive Education Programs at MIT Sloan School of Business and Harvard Law.

Mr. Mbaoua is a native of Cameroon (also known as Africa in miniature), and is fluent in both French and German. He will be promoting the Caribbean Agricultural Network model in partnership with CiBEXO/Spagnvola with countries in Africa, as well as facilitating the exchange of agricultural experiences between the Caribbean Agricultural Network, farming enterprises in the United States and Africa.

John Clarke is a social entrepreneur of Jamaican and Cuban heritage. He has worked on matters concerning economic trends in several Caribbean countries including the Dominican Republic, Colombia, Trinidad and Tobago, Curaçao, and Guyana. He has extensive experience organizing delegation visits for U.S. businessmen and political officials, writing papers on political and economic risk in the Americas, and managing outreach with foreign government officials and economic actors.

Mr. Clarke is a magna cum laude graduate of Morehouse College, where he was elected Phi Beta Kappa. He holds a Master’s Degree from Johns Hopkins University where he studied International Economics. Mr. Clarke is an Ambassador for the Pan African Council and serves as a Board Member for the International Association of Black Professionals in International Affairs. He speaks Spanish, French, Italian, and English.

John also believes strongly in education, partnerships, and the value of international exchange. While serving as Business Program Manager for U.S. Embassy he created a volunteer program in Bogotá, Colombia for expatriates to teach English to Colombian youth displaced by the Civil War. As VP of strategies at the Caribbean Agriculture Network he is tasked with building partnerships between universities, multilateral institutions, bilateral donors, and Caribbean diaspora entrepreneurs.

Tarnia Green: Prior to Tarnia taking up her position as Media Production Manager at Digicel Play formerly SAT television in Dominica 2014 she was employed at the Government Information Service (GIS) for 17 years as a communications specialists/news anchor where she served with distinction.

Over the years Miss Green through her outstanding work created an unparalleled connection with the people of Dominica and her publics on social media. 

Tarnia for the past 20 years has informed educated, enlightened and uplifted thousands of viewers through her anchoring of the nightly GIS news and other special documentaries and feature programmes. 

In 2015 Tarnia realized her longtime career dream and began producing her own Television Talk show dubbed: “The Tarnia Green Show” which highlights and brings practical solutions to social problems facing Dominican and other Caribbean nationals. A major component of the show features the accomplishments and success stories and those in society.

Her work as a Media Personality/Journalist/Producer has established her as one of the most respected and admired public news journalists and news anchors in Dominica. Over the years, Tarnia has been able to report on several major stories of National importance. 

During her career in the Media she has had the opportunity to travel extensively for training opportunities to countries such as Taiwan, Equador,London, China, Cuba, Venezuela. Special assignments have also taken her to neighboring Caribbean countries including Guadeloupe, Martinique, Grenada, Barbados, and Trinidad and Tobago.

In 2005 Tarnia was awarded the Best Television News Presenter at the DBS Radio Flamboyant Awards. Apart from mainstream involvement in news, Tarnia has been involved in a number of extra- curricular activities including being a training consultant for contestants in the Miss Dominica Pageant and a motivational speaker for young people. 

Tarnia has also served as Master of Ceremonies and Citation presenter at a number of award ceremonies and shows.
